And everything under the Sun

So far, all the wall surfaces in our house are either Plaster, Stone or Steel.  In our master bedroom, we decided to warm up things a bit by adding some Wood.  We chose 6″ Pine tongue & groove boards to put up on the wall between the bedroom and bathroom.  Because the wall is a fairly substantial  (10′ wide and 12′ tall), we wanted something fairly light.  The pine was a good choice and also the most economical “real wood” choice.

In preparation, Jeff applied a sealer to the boards. Then we applied two coats of water-based polyurethane. Getting the first row level is important.  Then up we go.We still have another 4 feet to go but already it’s a pretty stunning wall. We really like the variations in the individual boards.

4/10/14 UPDATE;After carefully scribing the top board to our not-so-flat ceiling… (a process made much easier by setting up some of the scaffolding we used early on in the construction)…we now have this beautiful pine wall done in our master bedroom.
